“SELF ESTEEM FOR KIDS WITH LEARNING AND ATTENTION ISSUES”
Jenn Osen-Foss, M.A.T., is an instructional coach at Clear Creek Amana High School in Tiffin, Iowa. In this role, she uses her broad teaching experience to support teachers in improving student learning using strategies such as differentiated instruction, interventions and co-planning.
Previously she was a special education teacher at Clear Creek Amana and a special education and social studies teacher at the Kingsbury Center, the oldest institution dedicated to serving students with learning disabilities and differences in Washington, DC.
Osen-Foss has worked with students with a wide variety of disabilities and differences, ranging from learning disabilities to emotional disturbance to autism. She specializes in developing social studies curricula to accommodate a wide range of learning styles, creating behavior management strategies and designing and rolling out new classes.
Osen-Foss holds a B.A. in political science with a minor in sociology and certification in secondary education from Iowa State University, and an M.A.T. in special education from Trinity University of Washington, DC.

Monday’s Featured Speaker: Connie Parr, LDA National Past President
“MENTAL HEALTH IN THE CLASSROOM: WHAT TO KNOW, WHAT TO DO, AND WHAT NOT TO DO!”
Connie Parr is a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 40 years of experience with child, adolescents and young adults. For the last 15 years she has concentrated her work in the area of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity, Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disorders. She is passionate about the patients that she sees and treats.
She has been involved with the Learning Disabilities Association sitting both at the local, state and national levels. She has served on many committees along with being Past President of the Learning Disabilities Association both at the state and the National Level. Connie presently serves as the Mental Health Co-Chair and on the International Conference Committee. She continues to travel across the states giving lectures. She lives with her husband Dave and two dogs Mia and Molly. The grandson that they have raised is now 25, but she dotes on her two granddaughters in her spare time.
Sunday’s conference registration includes dinner and entertainment by Joey I.L.O.
