The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa (LDA-IA) maintains this website in order to provide information and resources to individuals with learning disabilities, their families and the professionals who work with them. The privacy of those who use this website and especially the members of LDA are of the utmost importance to us. The information we collect about you when you become a member, conference registrant, donor or constituent, is used to process your membership, registration, donation or request for information, and to provide you with member benefits.
When you become a member of LDA and LDA-IA, we ask you to fill out a form that requests your name, address, telephone number, and email address. Your name and address information is used solely to process your membership, donation, order, or request for information and referral. By policy of LDA, this information will never be sold, given rented or traded to others for purposes other than providing you member benefit opportunities.
From time to time we may send out email messages soliciting your support, prompting a call to action, or alerting you to information of importance to LDA-IA members. In addition, you may receive communications from us if you have contacted us for a particular reason, and to receive the information or service you have requested.
Information From Children
LDA-IA has no intention of collecting any personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. If a child provides us with personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian, the parent or guardian should contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if they would like to have us delete this information from our files.
Individual requests emailed to LDA-IA are kept strictly confidential. Personal data such as address, telephone number, address, age and gender may be collected in order to fulfill a specific request for information. LDA-IA does not distribute your personal information.
When making financial transactions with us online (e.g., donations, online conference registration) we secure your information in transit to us and upon receiving your order to safeguard your personally identifiable information.
The web server system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to block unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, and thwart attempts to identify individual users or their usage habits other than for the purposes identified in this policy. Intentional misuse of secure information may result in federal prosecution.
By becoming a member, donor or constituent of LDA-IA, and /or by using our website, you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide to us as described above. If we make any material changes in our privacy practices or in how we use your personally identifiable information, we will post a prominent notice on our website prior to implementation of the change.
